Someday everything'll end and we'll live in peace and love just be patient until we kill that eye, which makes mass in this poor world ... Coming ... We are just in a state of readiness and we await the order of God's the Lord of the Worlds.
Freedom fighters, my boy! These people have been living for generations there then in 20th century Britain decides to give a certain religious group the right to go and settle there. After that millions of settlers from abroad pour into the country displacing these natives and basically conquering their lands. According to all definitions (especially US ones) they are freedom fighters. (not that I am a fan of them actually)
I've studied both sides of the conflict to figure out which I should support, and I've come to the conclusion of "screw both". Both have just as much dirt and blood on their hands, and the only group that can actually be "blamed" for the mess is GB. If one side would nut up and put fourth some real effort, then I'd support them. But until then they're both flies in my newsfeed soup.
The Israelis have a state where the Palestinians are not entitled to the same rights. Peace and justice will not happen until this is adressed and expansion is halted. Violence is not the right answer as it will only cause the Israelis to become more hostile, but it is natural reaction given how they are denied basic necessities like education and land.
However, the Israelis' argument is very straightforward: They are the only state on Earth for Jews- they will never give it up. They feel the Palestinians are Muslims, and it is therefore up to a Muslim country to take them in. Something the Arab states around Israel tend to forget is that they refused the Palestinians entry back in '48. MouseDenton has the right of it though, from a purely 20th century point of view. We could go further back, but a complete history of land disputes in the Middle-East would probably crash DeviantArt. It certainly crashes enough peace summits annually
I love my Palestinian cousins; I just wish the political manipulations would stop so we can go back to being normal as we were for centuries. The reality on the ground though, in Israel, is not talked about enough; Arab/Palestinians and Jews get along fine and work together every single day. I wish people would talk more about that than this microcosm of hate and violence. There's no rift between Jews and Arabs, it was all and is just politics, maneuvering and nonsense. Love is bigger than anything; its high time for love and sophistication and to knock off this stuff; nobody wins a political war. Nobody.
Wicked shot. Saddest thing is, they desire this response from their cousins on the other side; its all paid for (and so are they) to hate, be violent and genocidal. The WB and especially Gaza are two most prejudiced, hate-filled enclaves in the world. They desire not peace but destruction. Just ask Egypt, Syria, Lebanon and especially Jordan- they're so disliked, nobody wants them. The photo says it all. If they'd only finally stop the hate, prejudice and violence, there would be peace. But the 'activists' who support them get paid too much money to stop inciting them to violence. Its pitiful. Even sadder, over 85% of west-bank Arabs have Jewish roots... its totally a family rift via radical interpretations of a life philosophy. Everyone is growing tired of it. Everyone.
its really discouraging to see how several people commenting on this page have no respect for the costs and dangers of war. war is sometimes all too necessary, but shouldn't be encouraged in anyway. your photography is amazing, you are an impressive photojournalist and I respect your ability to capture humanity at both its worst and best. I just wish people would take real, brutally truthful images like this seriously.
If only it were that easy. The Palestineans see the Israelies as invaders who unjustly stole their land and homes from them often at gunpoint with the UN backing them. Would you stand to forgive someone who came and threw you out of your home at gunpoint? I sure wouldn't. I would go out of my way to regain my home and make the invaders pay and feel my anger and pain.
The complicating factor is that Israel is a healthy vibrant country that produces many good people and things. Is it just to destroy or punish a prospering country made for displaced peoples (The jewish after WWII) to repatriate the land to the Palestinians? And what of the Israeli settlers on Israel's eastern borders? Would they stand to have the home they fought for suddenly ceded to the Palestineans?
It's good that humanity is stubborn. It shows that we are willing to fight for something we believe in. If we didn't we'd all be at the mercy of some warlord, an abusive king or living in fear of terrorists.
In this case both sides have truthful merit to them as well as a good amount of filth on their hands.
The best way for the Palestinians and the Israelis to really come together is if they can find something of value they can extract from each other be it something economic or something cultural like music or cuisine.
More like Pokemon if you ever start to study it. The Israelis have Arabs in their country, and even serving in their military. The reason why they are so angry is because of what people are making the Palestinians do. This kind of fight has caught the attention of several people who now root for Israel. The problem is, these large groups believe this is a sign of the second coming, and they want to arm Israel for the battle of Megido found in Revelations.
Likewise, the Palestinians would get along great with Israel, in fact they have some of the best farmland. The myth of them being packed in like rats in a cage is false. The majority of the area is for farming. The reason why they are fighting so hard is their financial backers want to make Israel look bad. Every time you hear a line from a Middle Eastern country that the Jews caused World War II or that Israel is horrible, you need to realize that this is being told to the people within the country. It is being used as an excuse to up military budgets, and a distraction from failings within the country itself. So long as the Israelis are firing at Palestine, and not Jordan, Iran, Egypt(?), and others it is a win.
So both sides are caught up in a game of pokemon. I know a guy who works to end tensions between the groups, and he says his biggest problem is from the groups outside the countries, not in them.
As a christian, you're dead on. I recently woke up to what's going on, and while I feel - and rather know - that we are approaching end-time prophecy fulfillment, political zionism is no friend of the Israeli nation and the best thing we could possibly do is get out of their business and let them have their sovereignty back. However, the powers that be - the shadow government that controls the world, really - won't have any of that, as Political Zionism is one of the many machinations driving us head first towards the New World Order, or as the Bible describes it: the roman empire rebuilt/final kingdom of man.
