I'm reminded of the pictures taken during WW2 of American paratroopers posing the same way. The places and enemies change but the soldiers remain the same - good people doing a tough job in a far away land.

makes me think of my buddy zeikmeister, he got out of boot camp the same week as 911. was over there for 4 years and took a little break from the military then joined the army. he trains people in the Mojave dessert in anti terrorist tactics.

These guys are awesome. I served with this battalion during this time. 1-504th PIR or "devils in baggy pants". I love how the 82nd Airborne units do business.
