I especially love this. My father went to Afghanistan for two years and it was hard. Every day you worry if they are going to come home. Thank you for truly capturing the reason we are fighting. :)

I don't think I've ever seen a photo that instils such dissonance in me on the concept of war. A soldier, decked in armour and holding a very large gun, looks pleasantly at two children that he kneels beside. How do you reconcile these two apparently distant images standing parallel?

Very powerful stuff, incredible photo. Profoundly thought-provoking.
