Because AK's can't hit bullshit at 400 yards. M16's are a load of crap, but at least they can hit something.

I wish that the Canadian Forces and the US Army would just suck it up and use HK417's for their standard rifle.

7.76 makes everything better.

Y U No speak proper english? Kalashnikovs/AKs are made for Russia, used by 3rd world countries and reliable, but can't hit anything at a longer range. The M4 is much better than the M16 though. ;D

Isn't that a colonel insignia I see on his sleeve under the US flag? I'm not American so forgive me.

Nope, that's a US Navy rank. The colonel rank you're thinking of has a bigger wingspan. Not too many colonels would be working "outside the wire" like this guy and his K9. ;)

How do you know he's an MA? I think he's EOD since "the operation's purpose was to clear the town of improvised explosive devices, and provide security to the town through U.S. and Afghan presence."

As a former Master At Arms (MA) myself, I know for a fact that the Navy's only dog handlers, including explosive dog handlers, come from this rate. MAs often assist EOD when they handle explosive-detection dogs.

From my last comment, I obviously know what an MA is so you didn't have to "Master At Arms (MA)" me. I have the 9545 NEC. And Sorry but MAs aren't the only dog handlers in the Navy. There are SEAL dog handlers as well. Check this video out. (sorry about the audio) www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQk2Uz6jnw4&feature=relmfu

out on patrol. taking a break but.... remain vigilant, using rifle scope to check out surroundings OR anything suspicious. dog is aware of his handlers tension levels. if handler spots or starts to react to a PROBLEM dog will too!

All you people arguing need to shut up. Don't support what the soldiers are doing? Fine. I don't agree with the way we go about with dealing with things in the middle east, but at least have some respect. These people have the balls to do things every single day, that would make you piss your pants.

You want to "support" the troops, speak out against the Corporate interests that are sending them home in body bags or grievously wounded. If not... then stay the fuck out of the way.

To be fair, it's the soldier's choice if he/she wants to join the army/marines/navy/etc. They willingly joined knowing the risks and they chose to fight (and sometimes, unfortunately, die) for their country. That's how it is and always will be. Until world peace that is, which I don't see in the near future. You have the right to feel the way you do, but don't put down others because they are proud of these brave men and women for making that extremely difficult choice.

You need to review who put down who for voicing their views. And, to my knowledge, no one has put down the soldiers or the people who are proud of them.

I support the soldiers by stating clearly that the corporate interests that have hijacked the U.S. military, media, and government in full need to be stopped, and brought to an end.
