If only. I have a boring unit patch on my shoulder. Once I leave Germany, I guarantee only a handful of people will recognize it.

Wouldn't you get in DEEP shit if your commander found out that you've been releasing this info in your picture descriptions?

The information he released is the same as the info he would release if he was being tortured. basically, not much.

There's something appealing about the tactical vest when it isn't covered in extra gear. Very nice. Very cool.

Are you in the United States or living outside it? If you're a legal alien, all you need is a green card.

:noes: That's a shame. But if you do come to the United States, you can enlist so long as you have a green card.

Well, getting a Green Card is the tricky part, my citizenship is Romanian, and because of a few individuals, romanians have a very negative reputation in Europe, but my ethnicity is hungarian and when I get my hungarian citizenship, that would make things easier. Although in order to enlist, I should have done this years ago, cause the time I could get around a green card and enlistment, I'd be 26-27.

You'll be okay. The maximum age for enlistment in the United States Military is 35, so you have plenty of time.

Afghanistan isn't all desert, not even much of a desert, it's mostly mountainous, so the temperature can switch between boiling hot to pretty damn cold... at least, that's what I imagine.

Deserts reach below zero temperatures after dark anyway, so that makes sense.

Well, P3rs0ndud3 says otherwise, but when I was in egypt, the nights would drop really cold because the sand didn't retain heat. *Shrug* But then that landscape isn't the same kind os desert so it's probably different.

Actually I'm in afghanistan right now. It gets hot as balls here during the day, and the night time temps only go to about the 60s. But even if it was really cool, I wouldn't be suprised if he was still sweating under all that. The mountainous regions are all up in the upper 2/3 of the country as well. But it's dusty as hell (hence the fabric covering the mouth and nose) and he's wearing fire retardant gloves just in case. Looks like he loading ammo for an M240. (Not a weapons expert, so don't quote me on it.

Props to all those out there that do things that, even as a military member, I don't.

Hmm, intriguing! I live in mid South Africa and I recon that away from the coasts, our landscapes look a lot like in this photo and while our temps do go cooler than that, it's the air in the mornings that you gotta watch out for.

Props to any one in the military. Wish I had the balls.

Even if its mostly deser that doest mean it cannot et cold...a desert is define by a certain amount of perciptaion so even some parts of earths oceans are considered to be a desrt because it gets low pcipitation.
